Caregiver & DC/DM Training
245D.09 sets the bar for orientation and annual training. Getting staff there — and proving it — is the actual work.
Minn. Stat. § 245D.09 requires direct support staff to complete orientation within 60 days of hire, combining supervised on-the-job training with instruction across a defined set of topics, plus ongoing annual training. Medication administration training has its own rule: it has to come from a curriculum developed by a registered nurse, with an observed skill assessment built in — not a generic online module.
DSP orientation & annual training
Coverage aligned to 245D.09 subdivisions 4 and 5, tracked so you can show completion at a moment's notice, not reconstruct it after the fact.
Competency evaluation
Documented observation and evaluation of direct support staff, not just a certificate of attendance.
Designated Coordinator / Designated Manager certification
Training and certification support for the roles 245D requires every licensed program to fill.
Much of this training is delivered through CareCertify, the LMS platform we co-developed — course catalog and enrollment at carecertify.net. We also work directly with agencies to build agency-specific training plans and close gaps a generic course library won't catch.
